Ventilators for Russia will be imported from China

More than 2.5 thousand lung ventilators manufactured by the Chinese BMC Medical Co will be imported to Russia in the near future.

Roszdravnadzor issued R-Pharm JSC (one of the biggest pharma and medical device dealer and vendor) a temporary registration for a portable artificial lung ventilators with a constant positive pressure RESmart GII BPAP System Y-30T.

According to the document, the company will be able to introduce more than 2.5 thousand devices from abroad by January 1, 2021. The cost of one medical device on the retail market in Russia ranges from 2 to 2.5 thousand Euros (140-200 thousand rubles).

In early April 2020, the Government of the Russian Federation simplified the registration procedure of medical devices, allowing Roszdravnadzor to issue registration certificates on an application basis within three working days.

The simplified registration procedure includes ventilators, oxygenators, artificial blood circulation systems, thermometers, as well as various test systems for SARS-Cov-2, including diagnostic systems for antibodies to a new type of coronavirus.

At the end of March 2020, the Russian Government allocated 7.5 billion rubles for the purchase of 5.7 thousand ventilators and ecmo. Kret JSC was appointed as the sole supplier.

In March and April 2020, Kret JSC signed contracts for the supply of Aventa-M ventilators for 14.46 billion rubles. Half of the delivery volume-almost 7.5 billion rubles-was the centralized purchase of 6,700 ventilators by the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation.

After the fires in hospitals in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Roszdravnadzor temporarily suspended the circulation of devices released after April 1, 2020, and the manufacturer recalled more than 1.5 thousand devices for additional testing for functionality and safety.
