Chronic pain condition affects 20% of the World’s population, which is every 5th inhabitant of the planet. The leading three chronic pain syndromes: headache, joint pain and back pain. According to the Association for interventional pain management, Russia now has only 15-20 chronic pain clinics with high-tech equipment. While in the US there are about 3000, in Spain and Israel-150-200.
One of the main pitfalls of developing this area is absence of the medical field. Pain syndromes are mainly dealt by: anesthesiologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons or orthopedists. The others are absence of tariffs and educational centers. In 2019, the Russian government was addressed a resolution on the need to create pain treatment services in major hospitals in the country.
