The goal of the program is to help patients with diabetes manage their disease. To do this, they are provided with special conditions for the purchase of Akku-Chek blood glucose meters. Patients with insulin-dependent diabetes can purchase Akku-Chek Active and Akku-Chek Performa glucose meters at a 99.9% discount in the project’s partner pharmacy chains.
Roche in Russia, an importer and authorized representative of the manufacturer of Accu-Chek products in Russia, decided to launch a socially oriented program due to the growing incidence of diabetes. Over 18 years, from 2000 to 2018, the number of patients with diabetes in Russia increased by 2.5 million people. The prevalence of diabetes continues to grow – every year doctors identify at least 250-300 thousand new patients. In 2019, 11,731 new cases of type 1 diabetes and 315,430 cases of type 2 diabetes were diagnosed.
The program aimed at supporting patients with diabetes provides preferential conditions for the purchase of glucose meters manufactured by Roche-Accu-Chek Active and Accu-Chek Performa for patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes for insulin therapy. The cost of a blood glucose meter for these patients will be 0.01% of the price set by the pharmacy.
To become a member of the program, the patient must complete a few simple steps: register on the website www.глюкометр.рф; send copies of documents; take the device in the drug store.
