Import of masks from abroad will be prohibited in Russia

The Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation proposes to exclude disposable and reusable facial and surgical masks from the preferential list that allows the import and use of unregistered in Russia, if there is a registration document abroad. In addition, the Agency proposes to review the procedure for confirming the production of medical masks in Russia – the depth of localization will be determined by a special point system.

These amendments will be made in connection with the increased volume of production of medical masks in Russia, which by August 2020 should be 11 million masks per day, while the real need is no more than 6 million masks per day.

There will also be changes to the procedure for confirming medical masks for manufacturers.
